More about me

Kia ora! I am Willem Pennings. I’m 19 years old and was born in New Zealand, but I have lived in the Netherlands for well over a decade. I study Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). I also take part in the university’s Honours program. In my free time, I enjoy working on all kinds of projects, of which my Word Clock and M&Ms and Skittles sorting machine are good examples. These projects have gained lots of publicity on the internet but also in other media such as newspapers and radio, of which I am proud.

Every now and then I take out my quadcopter drone for some flying. I also design, build and launch rockets and the systems associated with them – think of parachute recovery systems and data loggers. All of this is very entertaining and also is a great learning experience. More on these subjects can be found on this website. I have a big passion for aerospace technology, as can be deduced from the text above. It would be cool if I am able to combine this passion with my studies in my future life.

If you have any questions about me or my projects, don’t hesitate to send me a message using the contact form on this page.
